Unit 1

The Second Period
一、教学目标:
A、知识目标:
1、熟练掌握各种人称在“What are you doing?”当中的运用。
2、掌握现在进行时的一般疑问句及其回答。
B、技能目标:
1、正确运用现在进行时描绘人们正在做的事情。
2、能够运用现在进行时的一般疑问句形式来进行表演和交际。
C、情感目标:
通过小组活动,学生养成合作竞争、积极参与、乐于表现的良好习惯。
二、重、难点:
正确运用所学知识进行交际活动。
三、教学过程:
Step 1. Free talk
Make a dialogue with "What are you doing ?""I'm doing."
这一环节既锻炼了口语交际,又复习了上节课所学新句式。
Step 2 . Revision
1.Show their dictations and doing activities then come to SectionA1a.
Match the words with the activities.
2. Point out the illustrations in Section B 1a. Ask the students to complete the chant ,matching up the places and activities.
这一环节在听、写两方面巩固、复习了新单词。
Step 3 .  Learn to say
1.Listen and match (come to Section  A 1b)
Provide three groups of  people Jenny . Dave and Mary.John and activities .
Play the recording twice , ask the students to listen to and write the number of each activity on the line after that person's name.
这段录音提供了不同人称“you, he ,they”在现在进行时中的运用,学生通过听录音,初步形成认识。
2.Try to say (Section  A 1c)
Point to the differint activities shown in the picture  of  Section A 1c .Guide them to describe what each person is doing , if necessary ,say the following  sentences and ask the students to repeat .
She's watching TV.      They're eating dinner   .
He's cleaning .              He's readings .                 He's doing homework.
Then Ask the students "What's he/she/they doing?" They may give the right answers with,
 He's/She's/They're doing ...
Ask the students to work in pairs according to the sample.
A:What's he/she doing?
B:He's/She's doing.
As they work, move around and check progress.
3. Grammar Focus .
Review  the grammar box.
Point out the contraction what's,I'm , he's and she's .Write each full form and contraction side by side on the board. Then cross out the letter that disappears when each word is contracted and draw an arrow from that letter to the apostrophe in the contraction. Ask students to say the pairs of full forms and contractions.
Draw some grammar boxes to point out the elements that make up these questions and answers.

通过这一环节的教学。既强化了 be doing 结构,又为下一环节学习各种人称在现在进行时一般疑问句中运用起到铺垫的作用。
Step 4 Presentation
1.Show the pictuers of Section A 2c and ask the students to tell what each person is doing.
For example,I ask,What's Naccy doing? They may answer , She's writing  a letter...
Ask them to write "writing a letter "beside the picture, then the same with the other pictures.
2.Say  "Is Naccy doing homework ?" Guide them to answer"No , she  isn't. She's writing a letter." If necessary, say it myself and then ask them to repeat . After this , ask several pairs of them  to make a short dialogue with the sample .
3. Talk about the other pictures with the students , using "Is ...doing ?" "Yes, he/she is.(No , he/she isn't .)"
First I ask, guide them to answer and repeat . Then ask some volunteers to try to ask and answer .
4. Quick response
Ask some questions  about any picture as quickly as possible , ask the students to give the right answers .
5. Practice
Let the students ask and answer in pairs  according to the model given above the pictures , as they work , walk around to correct their mistakes . After this , ask pairs of them to show their dialogues.
 本环节借助图片辅助教学,采用竟猜合作方式,增加了课堂直观型和趣味性,把单一的,抽象的,新的语言现象变成生动形象的图象呈现给学生,使 学生更容易学习和理解本课的内容。
Step 5. Practice and progress
In this step .I'llgive the students a free space to show them abilities
Act and guess
 Give the students some time to act with bodies in groups of three. Ask one of them to do the actions,for example, doing homework, reading, eating an apple .......The other two students do a guessing game by asking and answering as the following.
-What's Tom doing?
-Is he reading?
-No, he isn't.
-Is he ......?
-Yes ,he is , he is writing a letter.
As last ,choose the best group.
本环节属于交际活动阶段,主要是检查学生对所学知识掌握程度,通过模拟的情景和肢体语言,让学生分组模拟操练,使学生的口语和听力得到锻炼,通过团队合作,培养了学生竞争意识,激发了学生的学习兴趣。
Step 6.Exercises
1. Ask and answer
Use the information in the chart  of Section B 2b to make a conversation like this .
-Hello , is Tina there ?
-No,she isn't .She't at the mall .
-Is she shopping?
-No , she's eating lunch.
Ask the students to work in pairs ,first one person asks the question.Then have a change.
As they work ,move around the room checking progress and offering help as needed.When most of them do it well , ask some pairs of the students to present their conversations to the class.
2.writing
Make up a short dialogue including "Is he doing ? ""Yes, he is ./No , he isn't ." in their notebook .
Step 6 Sum up
Guide the students to tell" What have I learnt in this class."
Step 7 Homework
1. Make a telephone call to three of your classmates , guessing "What are you doing?Are you doing...?
2. Self check 1.2.
